Who is responsible
by.foro is the controller of personal data described in this notice. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to hello@byforo.com. If additional controller details are required for a particular transaction or service, they will be provided when that information is collected.
Information we collect
When you contact us, submit a pitch or make a studio enquiry, we may receive your name, email address, organisation, enquiry type, message and any information you choose to include. If you request editorial updates, we receive your email address and consent record. We may also receive ordinary technical records from the website host, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp and security events.
How and why we use it
We use enquiry information to reply, evaluate pitches or projects, administer working relationships, correct editorial content and keep necessary business records. These activities are based on taking steps at your request, performing an agreement, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting by.foro, or compliance with legal obligations. Marketing or newsletter messages are sent only with consent, which may be withdrawn at any time.
Forms, recipients and transfers
Website forms are delivered using FormSubmit and forwarded to the by.foro email inbox. Hosting, email, form-delivery and technical service providers may process data only as needed to provide their services. Some providers may process information outside your country; where required, appropriate legal safeguards should apply. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
General enquiries are ordinarily retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. Project and transaction records may be kept for the relationship and any longer period required for tax, accounting, legal claims or regulatory obligations. Unsuccessful pitches may be deleted sooner. Consent records are kept while a subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to demonstrate compliance. Security logs are retained according to the hosting provider’s operational schedule.
Analytics, cookies and similar storage
The site uses a strictly necessary preference cookie to remember your cookie choice. If you accept optional cookies, Google Analytics processes information about visits, including pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. We use aggregated reports to understand readership and improve the journal. The legal basis is consent; Google Analytics remains blocked until consent is given. Full details and preference controls are available in the cookie policy.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or an objection to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in the country where you live or work. In Poland, the supervisory authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
Security and children
We use proportionate organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal data, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. The site is intended for a general audience and is not knowingly used to collect personal data from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice when our services or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version. To exercise a right or ask a question, email hello@byforo.com; we may request reasonable information to verify your identity.
